Across today’s rapidly changing technology landscape, a growing number of organizations are struggling to balance intensifying ― and at times, conflicting ― challenges. From safeguarding operations against escalating threats to internal pressures to reduce energy waste and satisfy ambitious sustainability mandates, your customers need solutions that can help them bolster efficiency and resiliency while simultaneously reducing risk.

Stronger solutions for shifting IT needs

PowerAdvantage partners are uniquely positioned to fulfill these requirements, thanks to Eaton’s ongoing commitment to proactively develop power management solutions that meet evolving IT demands. Recently, this pledge was underscored by Eaton’s decision to reposition the Brightlayer portfolio in customer-centric terms to better align with key global trends in energy transition, electrification, digitalization and industrialization.

Brightlayer is Eaton’s portfolio of power and energy software and services to help you manage today’s challenges, optimize performance and be ready for what’s next in a world that won’t stop changing.

For years, Brightlayer has helped data centers, industrial sites, and other types of buildings operate more safely, efficiently and sustainably. Capturing real-time data for beneficial insights, the software enables organizations to reduce downtime, cut costs, optimize performance and prevent disruptions before they happen. With this repositioning, none of that has changed.

From complexity to clarity in solutions

So, what has changed? The strategic shift provides partners with a more seamless sales process and the opportunity to further increase profitability. To begin with, the segmented “suites” previously associated with Brightlayer have been eliminated and the software has been consolidated into a single platform, simplifying your ability to facilitate a smooth, unified digital journey for your customers. We’ve also done away with Brightlayer’s tiering approach of basic, advanced and premium levels. Organizations can now choose from four holistic offerings ― Brightlayer Distributed IT, Brightlayer DCIM, Brightlayer Power and Brightlayer EPMS ― each with specific functions and features.

The new approach with Brightlayer also makes it easier for partners to expand into new lines of business. We see businesses across virtually every sector, seeking to harness tools to increase management capabilities and avoid disaster. Applications as simple as a network closet are now poised to benefit from power infrastructure that is not only robust, but includes automation and predictive analysis to ensure operations remain up and always running.

Simpler packaging, stronger margins

Another change to Brightlayer ― aimed at increasing simplicity and efficiency ― is that much of the offering is now available in bundled part numbers. This includes having rolled software licenses or subscriptions, training and deployment services into a single part number. Eaton even provides IT resellers and MSPs a software bundle with higher margins. And like always, partners have access to a broad range of training, sales support, engineering assistance and technical support.

If you haven’t been discussing Brightlayer with your customers, there’s never been a better time to start. While you help customers reduce operational expenses, improve speed and reliability, and mitigate risk, you’ll be simultaneously building your own recurring revenue opportunities and adding significant value to your hardware quotes.
